Terms and Conditions of Sale
The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on hificonfidential.co.uk. Using our site and placing an order indicates your acceptance of our terms and conditions of sale. The terms listed are subject to change at any time.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods using this website you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within mainland UK.
Mode of Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Solo, Maestro, Delta and most debit cards. You may also pay by cheque/cash or postal order. Finance terms and 0% finance are offered on certain items subject to various conditions. Please confirm details before placing an order. When placing an order please provide us with your exact billing address and telephone number, the address and phone number your credit card holder has on file for you.
Please make sure you are using your own credit card. If you you are ordering items on behalf of a member of family, you must have a authority to use their card. We will immediately report to relevant authorities or credit card company if we suspect that the card, personal details or delivery address is being used fraudulently or without the consent of original card holder. We will only deliver the goods to the address where card is registered and in case of a different delivery address we may refuse to deliver there if we are not satisfied that it is a bonafide alternative address. If you have given only one address on your order and later on want the delivery to go a different address the courier company may add additional charges for change of delivery address which we will pass on to your account.
Pricing Errors
Whilst every effort is made to ensure correct prices are displayed on our website, should a product be listed at an incorrect price due to typographical mistakes or error in pricing information from suppliers, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders listed at the incorrect price whether or not the order has been confirmed. If you have made an electronic payment we will immediately issue a credit to your account in full.(E&OE)
All items listed on sale, on special prices, half price, clearance and bargain prices, are sold on a first come first served basis. Once the items are sold out and an order is received later, we may either offer an alternative item or cancel the order and refund the amount paid for the item. We may withdraw any item from sale or special offer at any time.
Product Information, Description and Images
Product information, images and descriptions shown on our website are for the purpose of giving a general description of the goods and all the information is taken from suppliers, manufacturers, magazines, and other sources. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information. For detailed specifications please refer to the manufacturer's website. All accessories supplied with a product are subject to upgrade or change at the manufacturer's discretion.
PLEASE NOTE: Speaker Cables are quoted and sold per metre from a reel, as un-terminated without any plugs on either end, unless ordered as pre-terminated or ordered with plugs to be fitted on both or either end (quotation for termination charges are available on request)
Availability and Supply of Products
All products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If for any reason we cannot supply the goods we will refund any money already paid for them. However, we will not be responsible for compensating you for any other losses you may suffer if we do not supply the goods. We supply the goods as supplied to us by the manufacturers including accessories, manuals, user guides and we cannot be held responsible for any change effected by the manufacturers.
Multi Region DVD Players/Recorders
DVD players supplied as multi region are compatible with most DVD titles currently sold. However, we cannot guarantee that every disc will work or play on these modified players/recorders. Some DVD players/recorders cannot be modified. Please confirm before placing an order. Any new software may need further modification for which an additional charge will be made.
Digital Broadcast Reception
Nowadays many models of Plasma LCD DVD recorders and other AV items are supplied with built-in Digital Freeview Tuners and DAB. There are some areas in the UK where full digital service is still not available or only partially available and you may find that your area is not yet covered to receive full digital service. In that case you may not be able to receive or record digital service on your purchased item. Freeview channels and services are subject to change in some cases an aerial upgrade maybe required to receive digital Freeview services. Please ensure that your area is covered with full digital reception before ordering sets with Digital Freeview or DAB. Once the items are shipped to you we are unable to take them back if you unable to receive full digital reception in your area.
HDTV
High Definition television is the future of television and within the next few years, HDTV will become the new standard for TV broadcasting. However, there are various types of HD screens available in the market with descriptions such as HD Compatible, HD Ready & True HD, there will be more innovations in this new format, so before ordering your HDTV please ensure that the equipment you are buying meets your current and future requirements. We can only provide you with the specifications as supplied to us by the manufacturers. It is your duty to make sure that equipment you are purchasing is compatible with your existing and future products for exmaple, DVD Players/Recorders, Home Cinema Systems, Digibox, Cable and Satellite Boxes. We cannot be responsible for any issue arising from the incompatibilty of your equipment.
Delivery
Items in stock are delivered to UK mainland addresses within 24-48 hours (working days) and between 9am to 6pm (mon-fri), after clearance of the payment. However, some larger items may take longer to deliver, in the region of 3-5 working days. In case of goods being out of stock we will endeavour to update you about the approximate availability time. Any time and date for the delivery of the goods is approximate and we shall not be liable for any loss, cost, damage, charges or expenses caused by any delay in the delivery of goods.
We use very reputable and reliable courier service. Goods are delivered to your door and must be signed by someone receiving the goods. Once the goods have been delivered to your door, it will be your responsibility to lookafter your goods. If the goods are left outside the premises it will be at your own risk.
Delivery Charges
All prices on our website are exclusive of delivery charges which are shown separately for each item. Delivery prices are mainly for mainland addresses. On payment of extra delivery charges (details on request), we can arrange delivery of goods to Northern Ireland (BT), Channel Islands, Isle of Man (IM), Scottish Highlands and Orkney Isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles (HS, ZE).
Shortage and Damage
If goods arrive in a damaged condition please sign the delivery note as unchecked and immediately inform us. Damage or shortage must be notified within 2 days of receipt of goods. It is your responsibility to sign for all packages as shown on the delivery/consignment note. Any missing packages must be noted on the same consignment note before the driver leaves.
The courier companies we use are not insured to enter your house/premises and will therefore require your help (or other recipient) in handling any order in excess of 25kgs (large parcels).
Warranties
All products supplied are covered by the terms and conditions of the manufacturer's guarantee unless stated, for a period of 12 months from the date of invoice. Where we offer additional free warranties they are arranged through an insurance company and are subject to their terms and conditions. Where manufacturer's offer free promotional extended warranties these are subject to their terms and conditions on which we have no control. By purchasing the goods with free extended warranties you will be accepting the terms and conditions of these warranties. This guarantee specifically excludes faults caused by accident, neglect, and misuse. In addition routine maintenance (cleaning of dirty audio/video heads etc.), consumables (styli, plug fuses, cables, batteries, etc.), cosmetic damage and tuning of channels are not covered. The full cost of the service call will be charged to your credit card account if our engineers find no mechanical or electrical fault with your product. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Before choosing to purchase a plasma or LCD television, please be aware that there is a commonly accepted 'tolerance level' by which a plasma or LCD may display such imperfections (or stuck pixels) without being classified as faulty. The manufacturer's verdict regarding the state of a screen will be final.
Besides the manufacturer's warranty, we offer good value Extended warranties from Domestic & General Insurance Company for a total of up to 5 years. Please contact us for premium quotations.
Cancellation of Orders
RETURNS POLICY
You are entitled to cancel your order within 7 days from delivery of the goods for a full credit or refund less any applicable delivery charges.(Where goods are delivered Free of Delivery charges and these goods are returned as not required refund will be made for the returned goods less delivery charges which we pay when sending the goods). The goods must be unused and 'as new' in their original box and packaging including all manuals(Please do not mark or hand write on manuals), accessories and remote control(if supplied). You must notify us within 7 days from the date of delivery. All goods must be received within 14 days of notification of your wish to cancel. In all cases it will be your responsibility to return the goods to us at your own cost and risk. Goods received back 'as new' but incomplete with missing components and accessories will incur charges. Goods received back in any condition other than 'as new' will be returned back to you. Any item specifically ordered or any cables cut or terminated will not be returned or credited under any circumstances. Any item returned for restocking (cables excluded) will be subject to a 15% deduction charge.
Faulty Goods Returns - in case any product is received faulty or not working on arrival please contact us immediately. You can then either return the faulty item directly yourself or we will organise a collection from your address. Upon receipt of the goods and confirmation of the fault by our technical engineers you will be offered the following options:
1. A replacement - this item will be shipped to you at our own expense.
2. A repair - the repaired item will be shipped to you at our own expense. Please note that once repaired the product is no longer eligible for replacement.
3. A full refund - provided the item has been verified faulty and is complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging.
If the product is not deemed to be faulty by the engineers, you have the following choices:
1. Return of the goods - the cost of delivery charged to you.
2. Refund - the invoice cost less any applicable delivery charges provided the product is 'as new' and complete with all accessories in its original box and packaging. If the condition of the product or the packaging is poor then we reserve the right to charge you for re-packaging costs. Missing accessories will also be charged at full price.
The manufacturers guarantee will apply to all items reported to be faulty after 7 days from delivery.
This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.

Notes:*
Free Extended Warranties: Where the free extended warranties are offered by the manufecturers' as a part of special promotions, manufecturers' Terms and contions are applied and their decision to honour or reject warranties is final. These warranties are offered for a specific period and can be withdrawn anytime.
We sometimes offer Free extended warranties on certain products through AXA Insurance and Domestic and General insurance company and in this case AXA Insurance and D&G Terms and Conditions apply on all these warranties. These warranties are offered for a specific product/products for a limited period and can be withdrawn any time without any notice. Please note that it takes between 8-10 weeks before the warranty papers are dispatched by the insurance company.
Free Delivery: Free Delivery service is offered only to UK mainland addresses and turn around time is between 2-3 working days for small items and 3-5 working days for large items provided items are in stock. We may decline to deliver free of charge to some post codes. If the goods are returned undelivered or refused delivery full delivery charge will apply.
Interest Free: Some Items are offered on Interest Free on BUY NOW PAY LATER Basis (maximum 9 months) through ABLE 2 BUY finance. Their deceision to accept or reject your application is final and is subject to status and our admin charge. Details are available on request.
